Congratulations to all of the county park staff on the well deserved National Gold Medal! Milwaukee is blessed to have beautiful fun filled parks near every neighborhood, and that is one of the main reasons I love living in the Milwaukee area.

Congratulations to Sue Black and our County Parks Staff and Park People Volunteers: You have done so much with so little by sheer dedication and creative thinking. But we, the public can do better. There are lots of delayed and unfunded capital projects that still need funding. It is my hope that the legislature will pass a .5% sales tax to take parks funding off the property tax so our parks can realize a more stable funding source that cannot be diverted or cut for non parks programs.
